Dolmabahçe Palace located on the Europian shores of the Bosphorus, constructed between 1843-1856. It witnessed some of the key events in Turkey’s recent political history. The First Parliament convened in the Grand Hall in 1877. Ataturk, the founder of Modern Turkey Republic, died in room number 71.
Bezm-i Alem Valide Sultan Mosque situated next to Dolmabahce Palace. The mosque was constructed for the Bezm-i Alem Valide Sultan, the mother of Abdulmecid. The inside decoration was inspired by the French empire style.

Dolmabahçe Palace, a blend of diverse European architectural styles, was constructed between 1843 – 1856 by Karabet Balyan. He was the court architect of Sultan Abdulmecid. The 3-storied palace constructed on a symmetrical plan has 285 rooms and 43 halls. The palace has survived intact with its original decorations, the silk carpets, curtains, and furniture. It surpasses whole other palaces on the planet in wealth and magnificence. (Harem isn’t included).
Bezm-İ Alem Valide Sultan Mosque: The building was originally supported by Bezm-i Alem Valide Sultan. After she died, her son, Sultan Abdülmecid, continued to support the building of the mosque.
The completion time is 1851. Mosque was opened for prayer.
